When it comes to good sense and doing what’s right, this life has taught me that just because some people know it, doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll show it. So in the days ahead let’s continue to be that rare exception that continues to defy what’s rapidly becoming the negative norm.

Simply put, don’t just say it and know it, but display it and show it. This is definitely a breadcrumb of wisdom that can lead us all to Making this “good” life GREAT!!!

I just learned recently that guide dogs are taught to exercise a special skill called “Intelligent Disobedience”. This means that if given a command that would put the dog and it’s handler in danger, the dog will make a strict decision NOT to obey the command no matter what.

This notion really got me to thinking and as a result I’ve realized the following parallel of truth: So too should we humans be expected to exhibit a form of “Intelligent Disobedience” when our peers around us are encouraging us to engage in actions and activities that are counter to our beliefs, morals and deepest core values.

It’s amazing how animals can often times model a perfect picture for us to follow as we attempt to make it GREAT.

Let’s choose to put into practice our “Intelligent Disobedience” whenever necessary and stay on the path to making this “good” life GREAT!!!

During this month exactly 10 years ago this family picture was taken in our backyard pool area with a view that could take your breath away. Now 10 years later my youngest is now the same age that my oldest was in this photo and the change of the years has brought with it so many other changes in our lives.

It’s amazing how a Blessing can be hidden in a Bankruptcy, a new Faith can be found in a Firing and an amazing Comeback can be concealed in an untimely Setback. The surprise is that through it all I’ve learned that sometimes we have to be pushed a few steps back so we can be prepared to take a few giant leaps forward and now life is absolutely GREAT! And, nope I wouldn’t change a single thing about the process to getting to where I’m at today. 🙂

I truly believe that in this “life” thing there’s a reason for every single season. So I encourage you today to think it NOT strange and be it NOT surprised if your best blessing lies inside of an unexpected slide. Or, your renewed faith is found in an unfavorable fall or failure. Just pick yourself back up so you can move-on up and claim your stake to again Make it GREAT! Don’t wish to get the old days back, work to make the new days better. 😉

The months of change can be kinda strange,
So I wrote you a short poem to ease your pain:

Enjoy…

Flying high in May and shot down in June,
Feeling good again in July after just being pruned.

August went by fast and so did September,
With only a few challenges as far as I can remember.

Was recuperating in November from getting sick in October,
And felt so bad that I thought my life would be over.

Bounced back in December with the help of good friends,
But in January, February, March and April the ups and downs started again.

Cyclical seasons of life my friends is just how it goes.
Up this month or Down the next? Nobody ever knows.

So prepare for the worst but hope for the best in the days ahead,
And when the ups and downs come back around, just remember what I said.

Yep, I said Let’s Make it GREAT!!!

This life has revealed to me that those who are committed to personal development and self-help have an enormous advantage over the general public when it comes to achieving their goals and becoming all they desire to be. Why? Well, it’s simply because the masses of the general public have been duped into believing that education stops with graduation.

So the simple truth is, if/when the masses decide NOT to continue their personal development, it thins-out the herd of competition so you can win. So just keep working on “you” and it’ll eventually see you through to Making it GREAT!
