Last night I had the strangest thing happen to me. In fact, it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced this in my 43 years of living. The experience caused a full swing of emotions from fear and panic to pure joy and elation. I guess it’s safe to say it’s a night that I’m not sure to forget anytime soon.

I’m sure you’re now wondering what exactly could have caused such a response from me huh? Well, I’ll tell you. Last night was the first time I’ve ever had a scary nightmare followed by a beautiful dream.

The nightmare I experienced placed me at the scene of an incredibly large office building. It was the typical stark & sterile design of that dreaded office combo colors of white and grey. As I walked along the corridors I noticed that everyone was wearing lanyard-badges around their neck and moving swiftly to their destinations making minimal eye-contact with the others around them. There was little conversation between the people as many of them were hanging out in their cubicles with an illusion of privacy buried behind a desk full of stacks and stacks of what seemed to be endless paperwork.

Each entrance was carefully guarded by official-looking people that wore a grimace on their face appearing to be suspect of everyone. And, the most surprising thing was that out of the hundreds of people I saw, not one of them was wearing a smile. The place appeared to be completely devoid of joy and happiness.

Then suddenly I was aggressively approached by two menacing looking guards that grabbed me by the arm and yelled, “Where is your badge!” I panicked and started screaming “NOOOOO!!!” and then suddenly I woke up.

Thank God that was just a dream. Or is it? Hmmm… The truth is that some of the facts and specifics may be a bit different but this type of dream is no doubt a reality for many. In fact, some people within eye and earshot of this message today may even be a bit irritated, uneasy or down-right upset at the fact that I’m pointing it out suggesting that such a place can be perceived as a “nightmare”. By all means I do not intend to criticize, complain or condemn those who have chosen to say “Yes” to such an existence, but my intent is to merely remind others that we all have a choice in where we go and what we choose to do to make a living daily.

Well, you’ll be happy to know that I managed to go back to sleep and to my surprise I had a dream that I was on a stage in the center of an arena that was packed to the rafters with thousands of people who were engaged and listening to a message that I was presenting. They were all laughing, smiling and nodding their heads in agreement with the nuggets and value I was providing to them. And as a result, my feeling of dread had now turned into a feeling of sure elation. Was this just a dream, or was it a premonition of what’s to come? Hmmm… I choose to accept it as the latter. 😉

So what are you dreaming lately? Are you basking in your area of passion daily, or are you just in an area or space doing time swapping hours for dollars with no real impact? Are you just making a living or are you living your making? Hmmm…

Just a little food for thought from Mr. BreadCrumb for you to chew on this week. So, eat up so you can go up and Make it GREAT!

GREAT DAY!!!
