Well folks Graduation season is upon us once again and the excitement of accomplishment is in the air.

Smiles are big and dreams for the future are even bigger.  There are very few frowns but plenty cap and gowns abound all around.

Yes indeed high-fives are in-order and congratulations to our sons and daughters.

A job well done for our family and friends and next of kin because they’ve all managed to WIN!

Enjoy your moments and hug a neck or two and feel free to go out and safely do those things graduates do.

Eat, drink (non-alcoholic beverages of course) and be merry and soak the memories all in and be sure to keep the contact information of your bestest of friends.

Yes, you deserve a break to celebrate so don’t be late and make it GREAT.  Be sure to do it tastefully so your tomorrow will hold no regrets or things you want to forget.

And most important of all, remember my little phrase  for all your future days when the dust settles on your festivities and jubilant praise.  Education does not stop with Graduation.

Commit to stay in an evergreen state of growing mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  That’s right, never take an extended Vacation away from Education after Graduation because it’s ruining our great Nation.

We need you now more than ever before to raise the bar on your personal expectations of what’s possible for you and what you think you can do.

So, don’t let us down all you cap and gowns in the towns all around.  Celebrate then plug back in and make it GREAT!

Would you think I was weird if I told you that I listen to my Christmas music all-year-round because it makes me feel good?  Would you think I was crazy if I told you that I mumble a morning mantra daily that includes a happy dance that sets a positive tone for my day?

Would you think I was strange if I told you that I have over 20 different journals and daily I capture every thought, conversation and event that I believe can be beneficial to people that share this beautiful world around me?  Well, I know I’m far from normal or average, but it sure makes me feel good to be living a life of defined purpose and positive intention.  Can you say the same about your day?  Hmmm…

I invite you to consider the following truth that I’ve uncovered and discovered.  Many of the great men and women who have walked this earth before us were at one time called weird, crazy or strange or even some other names that wouldn’t make it past the sensors in most public venues.  Why were they called these names, well it was simply because of some of the things they said or the actions they took or the fundamentals and philosophies they stood for.

So I say to you today that if you’re on a mission to do something great or significant in this world for the betterment of others, I encourage you to stay the course and embrace the weird, crazy and strange because these names are indeed prerequisites for your eventual gain.  Yes my friends this is indeed a path that’s least travelled this side of the universe, but it definitely will lead you to not just making this life good, but making this life GREAT!

I discovered a long time ago that the only constant in this world is “Change.”  That’s right friends “Change” will always be among us.  Some of us for the better and some of us for the worse, but change will always be…

I invite you to consider the following.  Since “Change” is inevitable for us all, we should move forward with positive intentions and embrace the positive change around us.  And, if we can’t find the positive change, we could and should create it ourselves.

My new acronymic definition of “Change” is:  “to Consider Having Another New Goal to Explore”.  We should always be looking to set new goals so we can reach even higher heights in the days ahead.

So, be encouraged today on your journey and embrace those positive changes ahead as you check-off old goals and set new ones.

I’ve discovered that the most surefire way to confuse the enemy is when things are going wrong just smile and sing a happy song.

Yes my friends make no mistake about it, we all have enemy forces out there that are hell-bent on defeating us and taking us down.

This unexpected response of smiling and singing is by far the easiest way to through the enemy into a state of total confusion because surely the enemy will be expecting you to breakdown or breakup, but you can surprise him with a total breakthrough!

Feel free to adopt this new philosophy in the days ahead if you dare and continue in your noble efforts to make this good life, GREAT!

Not long ago I was at my son Chance’s school preparing to go on one of his field trips.  There were many parents present at this time and as usual I was one of a few Dad’s that was there.  The third graders were all excited for the trip.  While standing behind one of the parents of one of the kids, I noticed that she had several tattoos on her body including several around her neck.

During the chaos of the group I took advantage of the distractions and was able to read some of the words on her neck and to my shock and amazement, she had the profanity four letter word “F ** K” on the back side of her neck in plain sight.  I let out a spontaneous, audible gasp, “Ohhhh!” and couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  I then quickly tried to wipe the dumbfounded look of surprise off of my face before anyone noticed.  I then took another closer look to make sure that I wasn’t wrong, and yep, unfortunately I was right.  More »
