There’s a mental war that wages on in the mind of us all.  It’s a never-ending battle between our big beliefs and perceived limitations.  The unfortunate truth is we live in a world that reminds us of limitations much more than encouraging us to have big belief in our capabilities.  Hmmm…  But take heart today my friends for it does not have to be this way. 

We all have a choice on every given day to wake up and live in honor and favor of our beliefs or to exist in the restrictive shadows of limitations.  Yes it has been, and always will be a choice and this choice is made daily.

So I encourage you today and everyday hereafter to choose wisely the path you will take and know that your fate is what you make and believe is possible for you. Don’t adopt limitations but give birth to big beliefs. I invite you to take this breadcrumb of wisdom today and make it GREAT!

It just darned on me this morning that Plants and Trees can only grow so tall if you keep them in a box or pot.  So too are human beings.  Staying in a box places limitations on what we can do, where we can go, who we can become and how high we can grow. 

It is my sincere hope and dream that one day “In-the-box thinking” will become slightly taboo and that our youth will be encouraged to come up with new and improved, different ways of getting things done.  I hope that letting their creative juices flow and using their intellect, ingenuity and knowledge to eradicate, innovate and appropriate will become  more and more common-place. 

The good news is that this mental shift in thinking starts at home, so we do have some creative control in planting the seed of “out-of-the-box” thinking.  A “boxed mentality” not only limits their growth, but it also limits our growth too for the future.  Of course, not everyone will follow this path, but at least we can advise them of the choice.

Yes, our future depends on those young, bright eyes staring back at us daily.  They need us now more than ever to stimulate them and focus them and encourage their individuality in a positive direction.

So, let’s not let them down today, not this generation.  Let’s get out of that box and Make it GREAT!

“If my life is a statement, what does it say to you?”  This was the question of the day at church.

My pastor and good friend, Kent Pedersen, suggested it’s a good idea to check the pulse of your perceived public profile every now-and-then just to make sure your life is projecting the right message you intend it to.  Naturally this got me to thinking, so I made a note-to-self that I would be sure to pose this question to the community in which I serve daily.
