Sitting in a good-ole’ southern What-a-burger fast-food joint with my Dad and a dozen teenage girls walk in with cowgirl boots on with track running short-shorts. WHAT!!!
104 degree weather outside and I can’t believe I see rain coming down. Humidity hovering around 50-60% and I’ve already had my second shower of the day. Whoooosh… Sweat tea and a female hospitality server walking around using words like “Honey, Ya’ll” and my personal favorite, “Sweetie-Pie”. Yep, it’s confirmed… I’m officially in TEXAS!!! LOL 😉

I was recently asked by a parent “What is the best way I can get my kids to set some goals and focus and follow their dreams?”
My answer was quite simple. “Show them by setting some of your own goals and focusing and following your own dreams and let them watch the process.”
Yes my friends the best lessons that we teach our kids will be “Caught” and not “Taught”. Let them catch you in the act of doing that which you want most to teach them. The art of “modeling” is one of the most overlooked and underused skillsets this side of the universe but you can start leveraging it for your purposes starting today.
That’s right folks it’s never too late for us to model how to make it GREAT! This little breadcrumb of wisdom can make a huge difference in the life of that special youngster or oldster of yours. So, let’s go show’em how to Make it GREAT! 🙂

Lately it appears that a severe case of the “I’m Gonna” disease is going around town affecting and infecting a number of well-intentioned individuals. You know the one I’m talking about, the disease that makes you say, “I’m gonna do this and I’m gonna do that,” but nothing ever happens. Hmmm…
I truly believe that even the smallest ounce of action is infinitely greater than a ton of the best of inactionable intentions. Yes that’s right folks the smallest of “something” dwarfs the biggest of “nothing” every day of the wonderful week and four times on Fridays.
So don’t be caught letting your mouth write checks that your actions can’t cash. The dreaded “I’m Gonna” disease is indiscriminant and no one’s immune, so be sure to protect yourself at all times and watch what you say because someone may actually expect you to eventually make good on your words of promise. So say what you’re “gonna” do then go out there and Make it GREAT!

In a world that appears to be addicted and infatuated with pushing the envelope and the boundaries of common decency to gain notoriety and recognition, I simply believe that the most gutsy, radical, controversial thing you can do now-a-days is just be your righteous self.
That’s right friends, in a world were rage rules, chaos is king, drama dominates and less morals equal more money, it’s becoming increasingly harder-and-harder for individuals to turn a blind eye to the negative way of the world and hold one’s self to a higher standard. But we must.
There’s never been another time in history where we need to stand up and be counted for modeling an appropriate behavior for the rest of the world to see. I truly believe that what’s right aint always popular and what’s popular aint always right and demonizing and villainizing the noble efforts of the “good” and the “righteous” appears to be in vogue.
To this I say, stand your ground you good men and women for evil can only prevail in the absence of those who would do good. So boldly keep leaning forward and attempting to do good in the days ahead. No perfect people allowed, just those who’re striving for perfection. Be encouraged today and continue to spread love in spite of the wild and wicked ways of the world around us and continue in your noble and just efforts to make it GREAT!
