Over the years I’ve crossed paths from time-to-time with many who have been bullied by the adversity of life and I’ve observed that many of them have become gun-shy to challenge and change.

As a result, they may often times unconsciously find themselves projecting their “whoa-is-me” attitude and philosophy onto those unsuspecting individuals around them.

To this I say, it’s in our best interest not to let others lack of vision cause a lack in our vision.  Continue to be optimistic in the days ahead and keep your vision as sharp as the day is long.  Let’s make this day so awesome that yesterday gets jealous.

If “x” marks the spot, where are you at today?  I feel like I’m in the middle of the land of Journey plowing full steam ahead for the continent of Success.

I’ve spent a little time on the islands of Dream and Struggle and I’ve even found myself caught in the wicked, treacherous Storm a time or two, but there’s no turning back now.  I remain Hopeful in the days ahead and encourage you to do the same.

Whatever you do, don’t turn back or quit now because the shores of Victory and Triumph awaits you up ahead.  So, keep leaning forward and steer clear of Doubt and don’t get Lost.  And, never ever forget that in the words of the great motivator, Willie Jolley, “A Set-Back is just a set-up for a come-back”.

So, be encouraged today and stay the course as you continue in your noble efforts to make it GREAT!

On this Easter Sunday be sure to enjoy your time with family and friends.  Make some memories that are sure to last a lifetime and most of all, don’t forget the reason for this season.

It’s not about the Cadbury Bunny and the eggs, it’s about Jesus rising from the dead.  The very basis and foundation of Christianity rises and falls on this one miraculous event and although we were not there to witness the act, we do not believe that “seeing is believing.”  We believe that “being is believing.”

Simply put, “Being” a christian means that we believe in the resurrection of the one we call Jesus Christ and death no longer has leverage on our life.

I invite you to take this truth with you in the days ahead and be sure to use the power bestowed upon you to make them GREAT!  HAPPY EASTER!!!  HE HAS RISEN!!!

Being a devoted father of four I’ve discovered over the years that one of the worst things we can do to our kids as parents is to paint them a rose-colored picture of life.

I feel that one of the biggest disservices we could ever exact upon our kids is to lead them to believe life is fair.  We must not make the classic mistake of attempting to shield and safeguard them against failure, loss and adversity.  There are huge, invaluable lessons and messages in those challenges, and avoiding them places our kids at a significant disadvantage out the starting gate of life.

Simply put, we should not attempt to adjust the road of life for our kids, we should equip our kids to handle the road of life.  Our daily prayer for our kids should be, “Lord, please protect our little ones through all hurt, harm, danger and adversity and when they fall, please give them the strength to rise, recover and realize the lesson in it all.”

This type of prayer acknowledges that we understand that challenges are a way of life and without them we can not grow.  No doubt this is a good breadcrumb to making it great.  So, let’s make it GREAT!
