A life spent living small and for “self” is the ultimate disrespect to a creator that knows no bounds and created us in his image and likeness to do the same.  The gifts placed inside of us all at birth are boundless and awe-inspiring if we choose to unwrap them and share them with the world.

Beware for the path of least resistance leads to Average Avenue, and that streets already overcrowded with countless individuals who’ve settled into the new development community called Mediocrity Meadows.   But not you.

A little word to the wise today for those of you who may find yourself in mutual verbal combat with a stubborn opposition to change.  Arguing with such people is like running on a treadmill, you get all hot and sweaty and when you’re all done you realize you got nowhere.  The quicker you’re able to agree to disagree with the stubborn, closed-minded the less undue stress you have to endure. 

Sometimes some people may think they know but they truly don’t know that they don’t know and they really need to know.  Simply put, those who are walking in darkness but don’t know they’re walking in darkness will never seek the light.  All the king’s horses and all the king’s men can’t put the life of the unwilling back together again.  So, jump off that treadmill and move on over to those who are willing and open to change and let’s continue in our efforts to make it GREAT! 

Create your Plan, Follow your Plan and then expect for things not to go quite as Planned.  This is my reality everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

A few years ago through a series of events I created the “Make it Great” tag-line/slogan and began to attach it to everything I did.  I even had a plan to make it the title of my first book due to be released this November (2012).  Well, that was until I found out a couple of months ago that the international restaurant franchise, Pizza Hut, grabbed my slogan and trademarked it.

I must admit my first reaction was “Uughhh!  I should’ve trademarked my slogan to protect it for my brand!”  A few friends even suggested I start legal action but I didn’t want this to be part of my story.  So I immediately started to view this new development as an opportunity to make the title and slogan even better.

As a result, it is with complete joy and pleasure that I unveil and reveal the new and improved name for my book, “BreadCrumbs to Making it GREAT.”  This title has a slightly different meaning for many people and I think it is a slam dunk based on the content that’s in the book.  I would love to hear your thoughts about what this title means to you.  Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

Yes, this is proof-positive that things may not always go as planned, but we can make the necessary adjustments and make the original plan even better.  Let’s take this breadcrumb of knowledge and make it GREAT!

Those who have ears don’t just hear this message, but be moved to take action.  I invite you to consider this following truth today.  The quiet yearning of your true purpose and passion and unfulfilled dreams won’t ever let you be fully satisfied with anything less than their complete fulfillment and satisfaction.  They will quietly continue to call for your attention and consideration until your days are no more.

No amount of money will ever be enough to silence the ever-so-quiet beckon call of your true purpose.  No occupation will ever be able to quench the thirst of your unrealized and unrecognized passion.  The “good” is just a creative, cunning distraction from the “GREAT” and many the world over have fallen victim to settling for it time-and-time again.  Don’t let it be you.  I implore you to realize and recognize this unfortunate truth and reality and commit today that you will not be counted amongst this group of individuals who’re comfortable with settling for “good.”

Many will cast this message off as just another rambling of meaningless content and carry-on with their lives and tolerate the yearning of their unfulfilled purpose, but not you.  Many will discount and discard this message and quietly live out their lives becoming more and more accustom to turning a blind eye and deaf ear to their passion, but not you.  Many will allow themselves to be duped yet again by that internal whisper that says, “You’re okay, just continue this way,” but not you.

Yes my friends, we are indeed a different breed that will refuse to be satisfied until that quiet voice of unfulfilled  purpose is silenced.  We will refuse to ignore the yearning of our passion that’s calling us to give it our undivided, complete and consistent attention.  We will categorically reject the notion that a “good” life will do at the expense of compromising the pursuit of creating a “great” life in service to others.  We will not neglect our duty and obligation to leverage our passion and purpose in service to our fellowman and strive to make this world a much better place than when we found it.

Be encouraged today and know that I’m extremely proud of you for being the exception to the unwritten rule of settling for a life in pursuit of comfort and average.  I’m proud of you for committing to make it GREAT!
