I just learned recently that guide dogs are taught to exercise a special skill called “Intelligent Disobedience”. This means that if given a command that would put the dog and it’s handler in danger, the dog will make a strict decision NOT to obey the command no matter what.
This notion really got me to thinking and as a result I’ve realized the following parallel of truth: So too should we humans be expected to exhibit a form of “Intelligent Disobedience” when our peers around us are encouraging us to engage in actions and activities that are counter to our beliefs, morals and deepest core values.
It’s amazing how animals can often times model a perfect picture for us to follow as we attempt to make it GREAT.
Let’s choose to put into practice our “Intelligent Disobedience” whenever necessary and stay on the path to making this “good” life GREAT!!!

I have been that person. I couldn’t agree more clearly. In my own spirit, I was taught at a very young age to think independently for the alignment of your talents and dreams that are coming from God himself. To be obedient to the spirit within is the greatest discovery ever. Intelligent disobedience is what truth, integrity, and every other good virtue is about. Thank you
Thanks for sharing Gerry… And, it was great meeting you yesterday at Market Place Business Connection. 🙂
