Years ago I used to struggle with being happy for others who were succeeding and realizing their dreams. I was somehow seeing others success as a distorted sign of me failing, and this opened the door for a quiet jealousy to creep in. Over time I found myself becoming cynical and I often times would quietly look for something negative to exploit in the person that was experiencing the success. This action was so subtle in me that I actually didn’t even realize that I was doing it. Fortunately over time I eventually realized the extent of my actions and that my unrealistic view couldn’t have been further from the truth.
I now take captive and eradicate any and all negative thoughts and genuinely rejoice with others success, and as a result, I’ve started to experience more success of my own. It has required a lot of practice to get to this point and it hasn’t always been easy, but now I’m delighted to say that it has become a permanent part of who I am and the new me sure feels GREAT!
I’ve come to know that those who don’t realize that they’re in need of a change will never seek to change, just as those who don’t realize they’re in darkness will never seek the light. Don’t let this be you today. SELF-CHECK TIME! For those of you who’re walking through the same forest, I caution you to stop and rise above the trees so that you may be able to take-in the breathtaking view from a mile high in the sky.
A good rule-of-thumb is to commit to always go at your own pace because it’s your race and you set the rules. Competing with others for advancement in rank or promotion can cause undue stress and heartache. As you commit to make yourself better and be genuinely happy for others success I’m confident you will find that things will start to happen and doors of opportunity will start to open for you too.
Always remember that if we do our absolute best, the scoreboard can never make us a loser. So the good word today is, stop keeping score and watching the clock. If you’re moving in the direction of bettering yourself and lifting others up, the size of your steps don’t matter, just keep moving forward and “it” will eventually happen for you. How do I know this? Well, it’s because it’s happening for me. 🙂
This is good food-4-thought so don’t be shy, EAT UP! Make it GREAT! Got Milk?
